Day 6 (2/11/23)
And the rain continues! Rained all night last night and hasn't stopped YET! Hoping it quits this afternoon, at least that is what our amateur meteorology minds believe!
So what do you do when you are stuck in an extremely small truck camper?
Sit under a 6x6 tent?
NOPE, we have a hard time sitting still (well, Ernie has a hard time sitting still)!
LAUNDRY DAY!
And what do you do while you are waiting for your laundry?
Walk in the rain, of course!
Laundry done, and it is still raining! Nap time!
We finally could not take another minute in the camper and it was just drizzling, so we took a walk back to Fort Pickens!
We explored it a little further than the other day, a discovered these little tunnels that lead to absolutely nowhere!
I can't believe Ernie went in there, but this is what it looks like from a little farther away....and at a different angle. Remember, my camera has the flash on so it looks ALOT brighter than it actually is! At the end of this tunnel is a dead end with lamps at the end! I did NOT walk down any further than necessary!
I would love to see some pictures of what this place actually looked like back in the 1800s!
We walked on this sea wall, where sections of it are quite high from the ground! AGAIN, the picture really doesn't show what my eyes actually see! And a side note.......IT QUIT RAINING!!!!!! But is is pretty darn chilly! Only 55 degrees and pretty windy!
One more view from the sea wall!
Back at camp, I took a HOT shower, made dinner, and now we are going to sit by a fire!
It is supposed to be sunny tomorrow, so I see a lot more walking in our future! We walked 5.8 miles today, which has been our average over the last couple days!
Night!
