Last Day at Pensacola

 Day 7 (2/12/23)

Morning!  Woke to a brilliant sunny and blue sky!

Our morning walk took us to the Pensacola Bay side of the island!  This trail is part of the National Scenic trail (1300 miles)....

Coast Guard Station is below and every day at 8am they play the Star Spangled Banner, which can be heard all over the Fort Pickens area and wherever I am when it starts, I stop, put my hand to my heart, and sing along in my head!  I don't want to sing out loud (people are probably wondering why I am standing still holding my heart, though) because I don't want to disrespect America with my singing voice!

The bay side of Pensacola is just as beautiful as the ocean side!

By afternoon, it warmed up enough to put on some shorts (don't judge my fat knees, it has been a curse most of my life)

Aren't we just the cutest couple ever?   LOL..........found a sand dollar and in my mind, it looks like a heart?  Appropriate for Valentines Day this coming week!

NEVER, NEVER, EVER do I get tired of watching the sunset on a sandy beach! One of God's many, beautiful creations!

Ended the day with a fire and some football!

We are pulling out of Pensacola tomorrow morning (BUT we will always come back) and headed for Laurel Mississippi (HGTV nerd, remember?)

NIGHT!
