Fort Pickens

 Day 4 (2/9/23)

Good morning!  Had a pretty hefty storm overnight so I had to work in the camper (better than in the truck!)

By the time I was done working for the day, it had stopped raining and we went for a hike to historic Fort Pickens, which is very near our campsite.  Fun fact the National Scenic Trail is a 1,300 mile trail that stretches along the Florida coastline (but we won't do that on this trip)!

The pictures do not do this place justice, it is a jaw-dropping site to see.

And perhaps a little haunted?  The hair on my arms stood up in these two places!

Nice little beach on the sound side!  When we were here a couple years ago with the Meyers' and Messners' we rented a pontoon boat and pulled up along this beach at Fort Pickens!

Hopped into the shower "stream" again, then headed for PEG LEG PETE'S!

Driving on the National Seashore, at a few points, looks like you are driving into the ocean.....

                                                                Hello Pete.........

Best food in Pensacola Beach!!!!!!!!!  Pensacola is famous (I think?) for Grouper!  Lipsmackingingly (I know that isn't really a word, but I don't know how else to describe it) delicious!

Had to walk off that meal and the sun peaked through like it was winking at us!

Overall, a great day!
