Day 13 (2/18/23)
Woke to a brilliant sunrise! God's painting! It was, as Kurt would say, colder than a witches heart, but the site of this beautiful sunrise, somehow warmed my soul!
We didn't do much today....well, I did climb a big ole Texas Live Oak! The are everywhere down here, along with Texas Cedar!
I guess you are never too old to climb a tree, although Ernie would have preferred it if I did not climb it! All went well, though!
We took a stroll to find the castle, which is called Parsons Castle. It stands high along the rocky coast of Lake Whitney. This is as far as we were able to get to it, as the gates were closed.
We were walking along the country road, and started smelling something with a strong chemical odor. Now being a Breaking Bad fan, my mind went straight to Meth Lab....high fence surrounded the place, dogs barking fiercely, music playing! Probably my imagination, but you NEVER know! Anyway, we hightailed it back to camp!
Back at camp, dinner and a nice fire (Texas Live Oak and Texas Cedar make the BEST fire)!
Night!!!
